Halo 4 War games Tips and Tricks

Tips and Tricks for Halo 4 War Games (Competitive Mode)

Check out review of Halo 4, as well as more Tips and Tricks for other games!

Having trouble winning games on War Games? New to the game and need some pointers? Check out Tips and Tricks Guide below to becoming a better Halo 4 player in the highly competitive world of War Games! These tips and general tips and tricks that should work in every mode, but especially team base game play types!

Crouch walk for stealthy approaches

Halo 4 Red versus Blue Competitive War Games
Using the Crouch walk or simply staying still will not trigger your movements on the sensors, allowing you to use stealth to sneak up on unsuspecting players. moving along the ground will not trigger the sensors, but firing, jumping, running, walking, and so forth will display you on the sensors, as well as anyone using Promethean Vision, so you may wish to combine this with the Active Camouflage armor ability to maximize the chance for a stealthy attack, and if possible, try to assassinate as well (holding RB button aimed at the player's back).

Plasma Pistol for Anti-Vehicle and Shields

Holding the fire button will allow the plasma pistol to charge up, allowing you to decimate a player's shields and temporarily power-down a vehicle, allowing you to hijack it or destroy it with grenades or other high-power arsenals (Rocket Launchers, Plasma Grenades, Sticky Detonator, etc). Holding it too long will force the pistol to discharge and leave you open for attack as well, so make sure the shot hits! If you are a good shot, this over-charged shot will completely wreck a player's shields, leaving him open for a finishing melee strike or further small arms fire, making short work of him/her. A nasty technique for sure!

Over-charged Boltshot for close encounters

Over-charing the Boltshot will turn it into somewhat of a Mauler from Halo 3, turning it into a mini-shotgun. Pointing this over-charged shot at an enemy player at close ranged, followed up by a melee strike, makes for a good 2-hit combo to decimate your opponent! Like the Plasma Pistol, this weapon will release itself automatically if held for too long, so be sure you know your target before charging it up, and make sure you unleash this shot at melee range and follow up with the quick melee strike afterwards!

Sensitivity Settings right for you!

Like in other first person shooter games, you will want to make you the vertical and horizontal aiming speed settings are set up nicely for your play style! In most circumstances, the default setting should appeal for many players, but if it isn't right for you, then change it faster or slower, then do some practice runs with it, like in Spartan Ops or Campaign. Once these settings are perfect, then you should be good to go! This tip can be applied to nearly any First Person Shooter game, like Call of Duty and such!

Make Load outs compliment the set!

Make Load outs compliment the design it was made for! It you are making a long range, sniper type, then make sure all your load out selections compliment the design. For example, Active Camoflage, a mid-range weapon setup like a DMR or Battle Rifle, and a good choice for pistol would be like the Magnum, with a mobility mod to make it easy to get into positions without tiring out. Or for a close range soldier, have dexterity for quick reloads, and close range weapons like the assault rifle or storm rifle, with supply as well, to get more grenades from dead bodies.

Stay with the Team/Complete Objectives

For games like Dominion, where there is objectives to complete, it is more important to take these objectives than just getting kills, and working together with the team is crucial to success! Help them take those bases, and offer support fire as well! If you have a regeneration shield, or a sentry turret, deploy it and help the team push forward! Cooperating with your team to get those objectives and kill anyone in your way will be good to your success! Use Vehicles and man them to help get the advantage and take out any enemy vehicles and soldiers you may come across, because not only do you get points for it, you also get medals for it too!

Spend points for what you want!

Leveling up in this game will earn you Skill Points, which you can use to purchase anything you have unlocked with your rank. If you are a close range fighter, then go for the skills that will give you abilities to better yours in that field. If you are a mid-range type soldier, then getting the battle rifle and DMR early will be a great boon, as well as dexterity to reload your guns faster. Eventually you will unlock everything, but it will take longer the higher Spartan Rank you go up!

Primary Weapon out? Switch to Secondary!

Sometimes in the middle of a fight you will run out of ammo and still need to finish off your opponent, but instead of reloading, switch to your secondary weapon, better if you have a pistol. Pistols are quicker to ready than larger weapons, and will suffice to finish off the rest of your opponents health. This tip also works well in Call of Duty games and most FPS games in general! If you are using the dexterity option in your load out, then this will be even quicker to pull out your pistol or reload!

These tips should help you become a better Halo 4 player, especially if you are new to the series!

First days of Minecraft (Survival tips)

Minecraft logoMinecraft Creeper

Surviving the First days of Minecraft!

Minecraft gameplay screenshot!
Minecraft can be a daunting experience for the first time player, but luckily we will give you some tips to get you started on your first few days of playing Survival Mode. If you are playing the 360 version, the game offers a nice tutorial to get you familiar with the mechanics, and the PC version is more advanced, as you need to memorize the construction patterns to create your tools. Read our bullet list and learn how to survive your first few days!

  • When you first begin, look for trees and begin punching them. A good idea is to leave the bottom stump, jump on it and then punch upward to get the most from the tree without having to use steps, and then remove the stump. After gathering a few stumps, make some wood planks and a crafting table.
  • Having a crafting table, you should begin creating more wooden planks and a few sticks. Use these to create wooden axes, a sword, and a few pick axes. Continue gathering wood and making wood planks, you will need these to create a makeshift house before the first nightfall.
  • Mine some stone (grey blocks) so you can create a furnace. This furnace can be used to create some charcoal, so you can make some torches to light the inside of your house. Ensure that your house is fully enclosed and you have a few torches inside and maybe even outside to keep enemies from spawning so close.
  • Create a door for your house so you can easily enter and leave your house at will. If you choose to build inside the earth, then construction of your home will be easier than an above ground house.
  • Having a fully enclosed house with a door, torches inside and out, with a furnace and crafting table inside will be good enough to begin your first night. Once night falls you will encounter creepers, spiders, zombies, and skeletons. Creepers are the most dangerous, because they will explode and damage any terrain in the explosion (except for highly resistant material, which you won't have access to this early on.
  • On your second day, you should begin gathering meat by slaying cows, chickens, or pigs. You should also begin constructing a farm nearby too. For this you will need a wooden hoe and a nearby water source. using natural earth you can till near the water to create a small farm. start attacking grass to gather seeds you can plant on these tilled and watered farm grounds. It will take some time for wheat to grow, so be patient. After the wheat is fully grown you can create bread out of it.
  • If you are lucky to find brown and red mushrooms about, you can create a bowl out of wood, and make yourself some mushroom stew to stave off your hunger bar for a bit.
  • Finding sugar cane about is another good quick farming option to create sugar and paper for ingredients.
  • After you have a farm or two with seeds planted, you should create some chests to store your items inside your house. have two chests together to create a big chest, which contains greater storage space. If daylight is still in your favor, you should gather more wood and cobblestone, so you can create better tools, and perhaps expand your house further
  • Once you have more wooden material, you should create more sticks so you can build a fence around your farm. Animals can trample upon your farm and destroy them, so its a good idea to create an enclosure around it, and fences is usually a good idea. Once you have an fence enclosure and a gate to enter and leave, place torches on top of the fence for good lighting.
  • On your third day, you should be self-sufficient for the most part, so you should now be able to explore and discover your world. If you find iron, you will need a stone or better pick axe to mine it. Once you have gathered enough iron, and usually coal is find in close proximity too, so eyes open! Place your iron in the furnace to get iron ingots, and if there is sheep around, make a shearing tool! This shearing tool will let you gather wool from sheep so you can create a bed. This bed will allow you to sleep at night and set a spawn point, in case you get killed out there.
  • Other than this, keep exploring and be sure to go to the minecraft wiki to learn more crafting recipes and more tips!

XCom:Enemy Unknown 2012 Tips and Hints

Xcom: Enemy Unknown Tips and Hints

Xcom Enemy Unknown Title box art 2012

XCom: Enemy Unknown can be a rather difficult game, especially for those new to Turn Based Tactical games and Strategy, but the Video Game Cove is here to help! Read below for some tips and hints to better get your game on with Xcom! Check out our Review of Xcom: Enemy Unknown as well!

  • Use full Cover as much as possible. It offers better defensive bonuses and give you a higher chance of not getting shot (as long as you aren't flanked).
  • If possible, try to keep the high ground over the enemies, it gives you better defensive bonuses, and a sniper, with the right perks, get even greater bonuses.
  • Expanding Satellite coverage is a great idea, especially early on. Extra coverage means more funding cash, plus sending satellites to countries with high level panics, can save that country from removing themselves from the Xcom project.
  • If possible, once you have an alien containment lab, try to capture aliens alive. Reduce their hitpoints down to 3 or under, then use an assaulter to get in close and stun it. (remember: Run and Gun does not allow item use when activated). Using a Heavy's or Support's suppression ability, and then having an assault come in for the stun is a great strategy combination. Capturing aliens alive offers you to interrogate them for more bonuses, plus they become a free corpse afterwards, allowing you to autopsy them. Another further bonus is you get to keep the weapon they were using, allowing you to use their plasma weapons later on once researched.
  • Be sure to research according to your priorities. If aliens are getting rough for your troops, level the playing field by research better armor and weapons, if countries are panicking, expand your coverage and maintain control.
  • Have a balance of troop types for missions, and try to level up rookies for easier missions, by having a  higher level soldier to lead them.
  • If you have an officer Training School, try to get your 6-man squad available as soon as possible. More soldiers, means a better chance of survival.
  • Move slowly and carefully, and using a leap frog tactic (one soldier covering, while the other moves up), can mean the difference in case of finding aliens, as the overwatch soldier can take a shot against moving aliens if spotted.
  • Use Dash carefully. Rushing and being careless can bring in some serious trouble if you dash without any backup or covering soldiers. A character who dashes will end his turn where he stops, which can allow any aliens to ambush and flank him easily if he spots aliens and cause them to get their free move afterwards.
  • Try to flank! Assaulters, with their run and gun ability, can easily move around enemy positions to get into flanking position, allowing for higher critical chances and can obliterate them, especially with a shotgun.
  • Use Hunker Down! If you are in a nasty firefight, sometimes hunkering down can mean the difference between life, and death! This is especially true if your soldier is wounded or suppressed.
  • Smoke Grenades are vital! If you need to get someone across a dangerous area or need to get a medic to a wounded or incapacitated soldier, or if you need a little extra defense in a huge fight!
  • Keep them alive! This game has permadeath, so if you lose a trooper, he is gone for good, so try your best to keep them out of harms way as much as possible. Being Xcom, sometimes bad things happen that you can't control.
  • When facing mutons, try to keep your troops seperated, because they can, and WILL, throw grenades and destroy terrain, plus doing damage to all soldiers in the radius. Fortunately, you can do the same with your own grenades, destroying cover, and doing damage! After that, you will get a good hit chance to decimate the aliens!
I hope you've enjoyed these Tips and Hints for Xcom: Enemy Unknown, and I hope these will help you achieve better success in your campaign!

Guild Wars 2: The Basics of Leveling

Guild Wars 2 Stategy Guide Book

Guild Wars 2 - The Basics of Leveling

Learn the Basics of Leveling in Guild Wars 2 here!

While leveling in Guild Wars 2 it is important that you go about it in the correct way to make any real progress. In many games players end up grinding the same enemies over and over again, and that just isn't going to work in this game if you want to level efficiently.

Monsters only give a very small amount of experience when you kill them so there has to be some other reason that you are killing them if you are going to bother taking the time. There are several different reasons to kill an enemy. You could be killing to earn an achievement, killing to finish a reputation quest, or killing to complete your personal story quest line or a dynamic event.

Achievements
If you run into a monster that you have never seen before in the game it is important that you kill at least ten of them. You will gain an achievement for taking out ten of those enemies, and you will get a nice experience boost for earning that achievement. You also need to consider if you have killed that enemy at all today because you can earn an achievement for the number of different enemies that you kill during the day and that grants you experience as well.

Personal Story Quest
The Personal Story quest line is very important for your character and is a great way to level up. When you enter into new areas you will see green dots on your map with level ranges. These are spots for your personal story and you should avoid these quests until you at least make it into the level range and it is best to be a few levels above the recommended level. When you reach the range you simply walk to the dot and talk to the person giving the quest. Complete the quest and you will be granted experience and will get to see some nice cut-scenes that bring the game to life.

Reputation Quest
Reputation quests are often described as hearts or heart quests because they are represented by hearts on your map. Basically you will walk around until you see hearts on your map and then go near one of the hearts to get a list of different tasks that you can complete. When you complete the task you get a large boost of experience as well as a boost in reputation. The empty hearts will slowly become full as you help the person out and eventually they will turn into a specialty vendor that you can buy different items from.

Dynamic Events
Dynamic events are an exciting and unique way to level. As you are walking around the game things will just happen around you and you get a chance to take part in the events (sometimes you don't have a choice). You and the other players around you will have to work together to tackle the task and you will all get a nice exp boost when everything is complete. Dynamic events are generated in areas on the map at random time intervals and there is no guarantee that you will run into a specific quest when you are in an area.

Crafting
Crafting is the last way to level up and surprisingly it is one of the most effective ways. In order to craft you will have to buy each of the three different gathering tools. When you have the tools you can go around the map gathering resources from nodes on the map. When you gather the resources you will receive a decent amount of experience that you can use to level up more rapidly.
The nice thing about gathering in Guild Wars 2 is that you can gather each of the different resources as long as you have the proper tool equipped in your hand. After you gather resources you can have them sent to your bank automatically where they will sit until you are ready to use them. You can also take items that you do not want and use your salvage kit on them to turn them into resources that you can then send to your bank as well.
After you have a nice sized stockpile of items in your bank you can go there and begin crafting using your chosen crafting profession. The act of crafting is going to generate even more experience for you and you will be leveling up in no time at all.

Guild Wars 2: Gold Building Tactics

Guild Wars 2 Strategy Guide Book domination

Guild Wars 2 Gold Building Tactics

Learn some great tactics from GW2domination.com for gaining Gold from Guild Wars 2

In Guild Wars 2 the amount of gold you have is going to affect the equipment that you are able to buy and how quickly and efficiently you are able to level. Without enough gold you may not have good enough equipment and your leveling will slow down.
Salvaging Market Items
One of the quickest and easiest ways to earn money in Guild Wars 2 is to salvage items that you find on the trading post and then sell the materials that you get from those items. In order for this to be effective you need to search the trading post for items that are priced very low. When you find those items you should buy a couple of them and salvage them to see what you get.
After you know what the raw materials are for the item look up the value of that material on the trading post. Use that value as a guide to what you can pay for the items.
If the items are much cheaper than what the raw materials are worth you should buy them all up and break them down and resell them. When you finish with one set of items move on to a different set of items and repeat the process again. This method is simple and quick and a great way to start earning money at the beginning of the game.

Buy in Bulk
Another clever technique to earn a good amount of money using the Trading Post is to buy items in bulk and resell them for a profit. What I mean by buying items in bulk is picking up an entire lot of items from a seller who is just looking to get rid of them. For instance someone may be trying to sell 1000 copper ore and there won't be that many people willing to buy it because of the massive amount. Since there is less interest in the bulk amount of items they will go for less money.
When you buy those items at a lower cost you can mark them up and sell them off in smaller lots so that they are more appealing. Even if you only mark the items up a little you are still going to make a decent profit on all of them because of the huge number that you purchased initially. This method works very well for most of the stackable items in the game, but it should go without saying that you have to do a little research to make sure you are getting a good deal on the items before you buy them. While most bulk sellers will list items at a lower price, others will have high prices and you don't want to get stuck with those.

Dragon's Dogma Tips and Hints

Dragon's Dogma Cover Art

Dragon's Dogma Tips and Hints

Some Tips, Tricks, and Hints for Dragon's Dogma to help you in your journey through the world of Gransys.

This Game can be quite diverse, with a multitude of Party setups, skills, augments, and much more, but we are going to offer you some basic tips and tricks to help you out and have your journey hopefully be a bit less difficult.

                                                   Have a Diverse Party
It is important to have a diverse party to be able to handle most, if not all encounters, especially the large monster fights that can occur in your journey. A favorable party that works for me personally, is to have 1 Fighter/Warrior, 1 Mage with anodyne skill (or high Anodyne preferably), 1 sorcerer for heavy hitting damage, and 1 strider/ranger. This setup, depending on your main character's current vocation, has been working for me in all quests and encounters, and I have not had any big issues using this setup. I know there is more setups you can use, but this is good for a basic party setup that works well. If you can have a mage or play a mage with anodyne with fire/holy affinity (Holy especially in Post-game) with high Halidom to cure status effects, you will be in good shape!

Borderlands 2 Deluxe Vault Hunter's Collectors Edition
Hello everyone, today we have a tip that I am sharing with our readers today on how to properly help with paying down on preorders. Its around 150 US dollars plus tax, so if you are a Borderlands junkie like me and really love your game, it can be a real hit to the wallet. I will offer some of my tips for paying down preorders.
