Aliens Rogue-like is a game where you are a marine, stranded on a colony, and your partner, Nash, is dead. You are tasked currently, with killing the Alien Queen and making your escape, but this is far from easy! Aliens have infested the base, and you have 7 towers to explore, find the Queen, kill her, and make your escape.
Aliens RL is a rogue-like game, and for those of you who aren't familiar, a rogue-like game is a dungeon crawler with many random elements, classes, quests, and so forth, usually done in ASCII computer graphics, and many rogue-likes are famous for their high difficulty levels and randomness with each adventure. Aliens RL is no exception, being difficult, random, and never experiencing the same game twice.
This game features sounds from the classic franchise, such as aliens hissing, screaming, pulse rifle firing, and features an atmosphere musical track, keeping you on edge for your adventure. Also apparent are contending with darkness, hazardous materials and enviroments, and of course xenomorphs looking to tear your flesh to shreds!
When you start your game, you are given a text introduction, explaining the events that have led you to this colony, and then you can create a name for your soldier, or leave blank for one chosen for you. You then proceed to create a marine class, featuring Marine, HW Specialist, Medic, Scout, and Technician. Each class is better at certain stats than others, and come with a set piece of equipment for each class as well. A technician, for example, is better at hacking and using terminals and other electronic equipment.
The randomness of this game has features such as random maps, broken or working elevators, and equipment placement, and the Aliens universe, combined with a rogue-like dungeon crawling experience, make this game a fun indie game for sure. In this current version, you only have your main mission, a nice variety of weapons and tools, and terminals, but future versions have more in mind and this game is FAR from finished, but with my overall experience, there is definitely more fun and horror in the future and great potential as well. I will provide links so you can visit the official site for download this game and other games from Chaos Forge, such as Doom Rogue-like, which is due for a review soon.
Zynga's Coasterville is the latest facebook game to be released and so far, I've found it to be an interesting game, although they do borrow elements from their previous games. Your goal is to create the happiest amusement park, and you do so by creating park rides, food stands, gift shops, and of course... rollercoasters!
The game features a nice tutorial that will get you familiar with the game through a series of quests, teaching you the basics, such as building stands and rides, upgrading them, and finding the items necessary by searching them. Most actions in this game require 1 energy point, which recovers every 3 or 4 minutes by 1 point, the only things I've seen that don't require energy is customizing rides, painting them, and upgrading shops. You can get more by waiting, or having friends send you energy packs. Other buildings in this game help out the park customers, such as rest rooms, first aid stations, and more.
Goods is a item which is required for almost everything in this game, and can be gotten by ordering more from the warehouse. The warehouse offers several amounts of goods to be delivered, denoted by a time associated with them, or you can visit friends to get more from their warehouses and other means.
Inspiration is an item received from visiting your friends' parks and aiding them by clicking on rides, parks, hotels, and so forth. You receive 1 for each friend, and this is used in the construction of many ride upgrades and ride construction.
Thrill points is an item received from boosting rides, and is also used as construction ingredients in many rides and some stands. Boosting rides will give you a set amount of points, and upgrading the rides will increase the amount you get for each boost! Beware, however, that boosting too much can break the rides and require more goods and such to repair and get it back to normal again.
Annual passes are an item gotten from the Annual Pass Stand, and work as recommendations, like from the game Chefville. You will need these recommendations to expand your park further, so you can build more rides and whatever you wish to add.
There is a few buildings, which are used for crafting parts, food, and props, for your rides and expansions. The more advanced constructions will require crafting parts from these buildings, but thankfully, I haven't come across too much need for these buildings as of yet. You will probably need these much more often for the more advanced rides, as I have noticed for the Fantasy and Wild West themed rides, which brings me to another point.
Besides normal rides, like bumper cars, ferris wheels, and the like, there is also "Themed" rides and attractions. Currently, the game offers Fantasy (Medieval style), Wild West, (Cowboys and Saloons), and the Winter themes. You also receive customization options to place there, such as dirt for the wild west, and so forth, as well as themed decorations.
You unlock more rides and amenities by getting "Park Popularity", and you get this by placing decorations, upgrading rides, and building more rides. However, your front gate only allows so many rides because topping off, which will require more friends to hire to upgrade to the next level front gate. Another item in this game, which is required for many upgrades and stands, is hospitality, which looks like a hotel bell. You get hospitality by building motels/hotels, or by asking friends.
The rollercoasters in this game have some decent customization options, and you can expand them in 4 directions, and require certain ingredients, such as goods or thrill points to expand. You can paint these rides and customize the sections with ride hills, "barn" sections (riding through an enclosure, like a barn or something), and twists and turns, corkscrews, and much more! The more expansive the ride, the more ingredients are needed for each ride section!
Overall, I find Coasterville to be a nice addition from Zynga, but however, this game does requires quite a number of friends, to experience the most from this game, like in most Zynga games. You will either need a number of friends, or you will need to spend real money to get what you need, but thankfully, you can get most, if not all, items from asking friends.

Castle Crashers is a 2D side-scrolling Beat em up game that allows up to 4 players to play, and provides online play and local multiplayer. Castle Crashers is a fun game available on consoles and on PC on platforms such as Steam and other devices. An evil wizard and his minions have kidnapped the princess and a powerful gem and it's up to you, the King's knights, to put a stop to the wizard and his cohorts.
The game features multiple playable characters to choose from, and each has their own powerful magics, as you continue the fight, you will level up, and at the end of a level, you are allowed to put your skill points into 4 different categories, (Strength, Magic, Defense, and Agility). Strength increases the damage of your melee attacks, Magic increases the range, power, and unlock new attacks with increases, Defense increases your health and resilence, and finally, agility increases your movement speed and archery damage with the bow.
Along the way, you will encounter the humor of this game, which is laden throughout and never keeps you bored, along with cameos from other video games in their franchises, such as alien hominid. As you play through the game you will unlock more characters, and even a hardcore mode to keep you going with extra replayability.
You will find a wide variety of different weapons and pets in your travels as well, which offer different bonuses. Weapons can alter your stats, and some will even offer you critical attacks for extra damage, and these can be bought inside the shops. Pets are floating creatures you find along the way which offer different bonuses, such as finding extra health, items, knocking enemies over, secrets, and much more! Finding them all can be tricky and require you to do certain things or find secrets in the level, but keep the replayability up!
There is also extra modes too like All you can Quaff and Arena fights. Arena battles is a wave by wave battle inside an arena where you fight enemies in that particular level. All you can Quaff is an eating game where you have to push certain buttons rapidly then hit another button when you finish eating to call in the next food item, eat it, and repeat until you reach the top of the bar on your left side. The Extra modes are pretty fun in themselves and can be played with other players too.
Overall the Game is a fantastic beat em up and I highly recommend it if you love these style of games and have friends you can play with too, although single play is just as fun too! If you are interested in other game reviews, we have them ready for you to check out!
